English, John R., Columbus, Ohio, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1885 May 9
Scope and Contents
English thanks Hudson for the book. Since his health is not good, he has given up business and will travel in an attempt to regain his strength. The doctor advises going South or to Southern France. English will leave on his tour in September. He plans to write to Father Thomas Walsh requesting that he be allowed to board for a month at Notre Dame. His mother will visit Notre Dame for the commencement and then probably take a cottage on Lake Huron. English should never have started in business, because his health would not permit it and he is financially situated that he does not have to work. :: X-2-o A.L.S. 4pp. 4to.
