Lambing, Father Andrew A., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1885 February 5
Scope and Contents
On last Sunday they organized the Ohio Valley Catholic Historical and Antiquarian Society . Lambing was elected president. His Researches go off slowly. John Gilmary Shea and Richard H. Clarke made a mistake in putting the membership of the American Catholic Historical Society so high. There is not sufficient literary ability at the head of the society in Philadelphia. Their circular is no credit. Lambing has a nephew, fifteen and a half, with him studying for the Church. His brother, Father Michael Lambing remains at Scottdale. Lambing is writing to the Cardinal Prefect of the Propaganda on the subject of "dirty advertisements" in Catholic papers. He wrote the Archbishop of Baltimore last May on the same subject. :: X-2-o L.S.Typewritten 2pp. 4to.
