Gordon, Adella, Cairo, Illinois, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1884 October 24
Scope and Contents
Gordon thanks Hudson for his kindness in sending her so many things. The fall and winter weather should strengthen Hudson's health. Hudson would favor Gordon if he would run an errand for her to St. Mary's. She has not had any replies from St. Mary's to her mail since September. So the Plumed Knight, James G. Blaine visited Notre Dame and St. Mary's. Tell the writer of the Exchange column that if he would use his pen in denouncing the "Know Nothing'... renegade as he used it against George W. Curtis he will do more for Catholicity and the moral cause of Notre Dame students. She cannot believe that Hudson will vote for Blaine. Is it true that George Clarke is stumping Indiana for Blaine? Has General Lew Wallace visited Notre Dame this month? :: X-2-n A.L.S. 8pp. 12mo.
