Lambing, Father Andrew A., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1883 February 17

 Item — Box: CHUD 5
Identifier: CHUD X-2-k

Scope and Contents

Lambing thanks Hudson for the Lourdes water. The flood has forced the closing of his school, and he fears that many of the children will go to the public school. Lambing shortened the last part of his work on Father Lemche because it was becoming difficult. Father Thomas J. Howley, pastor of Lambing's home town parish in Kittannung, Pennsylvania died last night. A sketch of Howley's life is enclosed. Lambing saw in a recent issue of the Baltimore Mirror an article to the effect that Father Ambrose Marechal, S.S., later the Archbishop of Baltimore, called on General George Washington and saw a full length picture of the Immaculate Conception at Washington's bedhead. :: X-2-k A.L.S. 4pp. 4to.
