French, Father S J., Kenosha, Wisconsin, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1883 January 29
Scope and Contents
It is a long time since any letters have passed between the, but he is now in a region where he hopes they may meet next spring or summer. He writes, trusting that Hudson is still at Notre Dame. For the past two years he has been very near the "border land". A serious illness compelled him to leave his work on Lake Superior. The last part of the past two years was spent in Cleveland. However, last fall he was able to begin again in a mild way and took work in this country town where he finds pleasant surroundings, a godly Bishop and a good school. He again has a home of his own, in which Hudson is most welcome. He has not heard for many months from Mr. Perkins, who is in Alameda. He had thought of joining him a year ago but his plans were overruled and his health restored here. :: X-2-k A.L.S. 3pp. 12mo.
