At length she is to have a little chat with Hudson. Doubtless the retreat was very fatiguing, but she is pleased to know the effects were so beneficial. She is disappointed that Hudson cannot accept an invitation to go to Lourdes. She is confident John English will recover and the trip would give Hudson a lease of at least fifty years on his life. She would like to see him the size of Father Walsh. She hopes he was able to say Mass this morning... for the anniversary of her mother's death.
