Ignatia C.S.C., Sister Mary, St. Mary's Notre Dame, Indiana, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1880 April 7
Scope and Contents
Sister Ignatia cannot write a notice of the enclosed. As a Christmas play it is a failure. Father General would never allow it to be seen in any representation. There is no personality, nor refinement. Unpleasant historical facts are emphasized with no antidote. Sister Ignatius would not take the trouble to notice the work. The private experience of Mother McAuley could be told by the Sister that wrote it. The writer could also brand the name of a woman who left the Order of Mercy. Sister Ignatia asks the prayers of the Association of Our Lady of Lourdes, for the happy death of Mr. Coffey, a Catholic of Rockford, illinois. No enclosure. :: X-2-f A.L.S. 4pp. 12mo
