The reason Hudson received one manuscript from New York is because she writes for the "Young Catholic" and Mrs. Hecker did not find that article just what she wanted so Miss Emery told her to send it to Hudson. She pays very little as she is not accustomed to paying for contributions. Miss Emery does not earn enough to pay for her food and clothing.
