Black, Mrs. Ellen P., Washington, D. C., to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C ., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1879 May 28
Scope and Contents
She sends some lines for publication if worthy of printing. She is a convert to the Church and her heart is aglow with the realization of the loveliness of the Church. She has written for the press occasionally but never for a Catholic paper. She is a widow, her only son came from Europe and she succeeded in converting him and now he is studying for the priesthood. She has friends among the clergy who want her to write for the Ave Maria. She sends a scribble that appeared in last week's paper, but will be republished as it was not set up in the way the editor approves. She regrets the loss suffered by the University in the fire. The "scribble" is pinned to the letter and is entitled "Here, Oh! May" :: X-2-e A.L.S. 4pp. 8vo.
