A letter from a Protestant lady in New York who read the book has gratified her. Another letter of encouragement came from a sailor whose ship is at Erie, Pa. He spoke of the things she had written warmly. She will get through "Retrospections" presently, to the conversion of Mrs. Moley and "Beth's Promise."
