Howe, Frances R., Bailly Homestead, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C, Notre Dame, Indiana, 1879 January 13
Scope and Contents
Frances Howe has just found out of the loss suffered by Hudson and both she and her mother express their most heartfelt sympathy. She thinks it must be a terrible shock to lose an important aim in life. It seems to her that God often grants our prayers without our knowing it. Perhaps if we learned how powerful our prayers were, we would think too much of ourselves. She prays more for the salvation of her friends than for their visible entrance into the Church. Her mother and she will pray that Hudson's father may be soon where he can thank God for having given him a son called to the priesthood. :: X-2-e A.L.S. 2pp. crown 8 vo
