Howe, Rose B.F., Railly Homestead, Chesterton, Indiana, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1876 December 18

 Item — Box: CHUD 1
Identifier: CHUD X-2-d

Scope and Contents

She is at a loss to account for the wide discrepancy of time between the mailing and arriving of Hudson's letter. She suggests some possible subtitles and a title for her article on the Rosary whose publication she believes should be timed so that the last article is published during the week of the feast to which the story refers. She fully realizes that Hudson must find her hard to get along with but she believes that her indispositions are due to the fact that she is overworked and not because she wants to feel that way. While in Chicago several persons told her that they would like to see Frances Howe's Louise Lateau in book form. Miss Eliza Allen Starr would like to visit them on her way to St. Mary's but the deep snow not only prevented them from sending an answer to her letter but most probably would also prevent her from reaching their home. She reminds Hudson that she will willingly agree with any valid arguments he advances for changing the title of her story. :: X-2-d A.L.S. 5pp. 12mo.
