Edwards thanks Clarke for the pamphlets sent to the library. The first Bishop of New Orleans was never Archbishop of Havana. After he resigned the See of New Orleans, he was made Vicar General, Provisor, of Havana and afterwards Archbishop of Guatemala. Father Edwards Sorin C.S.C. is in Europe. P.S. Edwards wants a portrait of Clarke to place near Brownson and Shea in a gallery of Catholic writers that they have commenced at Notre Dame. Fathers Thomas Walsh and Daniel Hudson send regards.
