Merrick, R. T., Washington, District of Columbia, to Richard Henry Clarke, New York, New York, 1884 May 20

 Item
Identifier: CRCL I-2-n

Scope and Contents

Merrick has just received by mail the supplement of the Baltimore Sun containing a full report of his speech at St. Mary's City. As soon as he has time to write out the speech it will appear in pamphlet form. Papers throughout the country published extracts from his speech and Merrick has received some letters in regard to the position he has taken; most of them were commendatory. Merrick supposes he will be attacked and so much the better for he is prepared. He hopes Clarke's pen will be in his defense since he used Clarke's articles. :: I-2-n A.L.S. 2pp. 4to.
