Healy, Bishop James Augustine, Portland, Maine, to Richard Henry Clarke, New York, New York, 1884 April 25
Item
Identifier: CRCL I-2-n
Scope and Contents
Healy was in California when Clarke's letter arrived. Father William Keegan of Brooklyn, New York can give the best account of Bishop David William Bacon 's youth and priestly life. Healy knows little of Bacon, who left no notes or records of his episcopal labors. Healy has in mind to put together some account of the Missions, etc. in Maine, but a record of Bacon's time would rely upon scanty materials. He cannot say when he will begin until after the division is completed of that diocese. :: I-2-n A.L.S. 2pp. 8vo.
