Early proposed Clarke for the degree of LL.D. at their Commencement on the 27th and the faculty concurred. Early hopes Clarke will be present. The same degree was conferred on Thomas William Marshall before his return to England, and will be conferred on Senator Charles Casserly and Justice Samuel F. Miller of the Supreme Court.
