M.K. McGrath had see McMaster in New York and reported him as being remarkably well. O'Brien is also asked about John Alphonsus McMaster, who he is, and if he is "any good", to which he replies that if he were not "any good" he would not be on the Freeman's payroll. Regarding McMaster's family, O'Brien always says that some, if not all, his daughters are members of religious orders. One of those who inquired about McMaster was Father S.P. Lalumiere, S.J., Father Robert J. Roche, of Janesville, Wisconsin at Mass last Sunday recommended the Freeman's Journal. O'Brien got him to subscribe to it three years age, at a time when he said, Roche was prejudiced against it, but last Sunday Roche recommended it as one of the best Catholic papers in the United States. He also praised McMaster very highly. But there were few in church to hear Roche's discourse, most of them being at Beloit's church dedication. He suggests McMaster supply some information for inquiring friends. :: I-2-e A.L.S. 4pp. 12mo.
