Scope and Contents
He sends a catalogue of old Benedictine nuns in the U.S. also several letters. He asks that the Feast of St. Benedict be given favorable notice in the Journal, as to indulgences etc. The idea of celebrating the birthday rather than the day of death was advanced in 1875. The Franciscans are preparing to celebrate the 7th centennial of the birth year of St. Francis but some of the Benedictines are opposed to the idea. He is preparing a catalog of all black Benedictines of which he will send McMaster a copy. :: I-2-c A.L.S. 1p. 8vo.
