Donovan asks McMaster if the assertion in Gladstones' Pamphlet is true, that the Hierarchy of the Roman Communion, in its pastoral address to the clergy and laity of Ireland, dated Jan. 25, 1823, declared on oath, that the Infallibility of the Pope was not an article of Catholic faith and hence did not require belief.
