Scope and Contents
Ten dollars is sent, $3.25 to be used for a subscription to the Journal, $1.75 is to be sent to the Pope, while the other $5.00 is to be sent to Major John Thomas Lane for his small pox remedy. The following Sunday, he will offer Mass for the repose of the soul of Mrs. McMaster and on the Sunday after, for McMaster and his family. On various Sundays Father Barclay will remember McMaster and his family. All that is expected in return is that McMaster and his children remember him in their prayers.
