Two or three years ago a priest named Thomas Carlisle left Scotland and went to the United States. He called upon Father William McClellan of New York and begged money to get to Michigan where he said he had relatives. A report of his death has reached Scotland. It is of considerable importance to ascertain the truth of this report as Carlisle had sold his 400 pound life insurance policy to a priest of this district who has been paying the premium on it.
