Scope and Contents

He begs to introduces to Lefevere Father Robert Mullen who is soliciting aid for the purpose of establishing a Catholic University in Ireland . This project has been warmly recommended by the Holy Father Pius IX, has been adopted by the National Synod of Thurles, Ireland and is most necessary for the preservation of the Faith in Ireland and important for the influence it is calculated to have in the countries it will affect. The undertaking is beyond their strength but the bishops of Ireland place the utmost confidence in their brothers in America. He begs in his own name and the name of his colleagues for Lefevere's cooperation and assistance. :: III-2-h L.S. and sealed 2pp. 8vo.
