A few days ago Henni received a copy of "Synodes Diocesana Vincennensis" in which it is stated under "De Matrimonia" that Pope Gregory XVI had ruled January 10, 1841 that the decrees of the Council of Trent are in force in that diocese. If such be the case with Indiana and the diocese of Vincennes, Henni thinks Wisconsin and Detroit and Michigan fall under the same predicament. If the Council of Trent has been promulgated at stations south of them it must have also been published at earlier missionary places as Detroit, Mackinac, St. Mary's, Rapides des Bois?.
