Baraga is quite disturbed that he has to inform Father Badin that the school teacher of Cottrellville has to be dismissed. He got intoxicated several times during Father Baraga's absence and even yesterday May 26. he came to the house so drunk, that he could not stand up. Today he did not go back to school though Baraga told him that he could collect a little of his school money if he would go back immediately. Father Baraga advises Father Badin not to receive Mr. Kelly in Detroit because he should leave the diocese altogether. Mr. Kelly himself knows, that he would never be ordained a priest by Bishop Frederick Rese. Badin should inform the Bishop about this matter as soon as he comes back to Detroit.
