Chapter. Looking into why there were not more Catholics who stood up in opposition against the Holocaust. Says there was a great desire not to know or to close your eyes and look the other way. Moreover, somed did not even see it as their duty to speak up, but left that in the hands of their leaders. In addition, he comments on the lack of papal opposition, but says that the sad truth is that any papal call would most likely not have succceeded in rallying the Catholic population to martyrdom. ~ Baltimore
