A letter to the editor of THE WITNESS by John is included. ~ In light of Carter's second call for draft registration, Gordon reflects upon the church's recent pledge to provide counseling and support to those facing questions of military service. He says that although some churches have make steps, many have not made any. Gordon asserts that the church is failing in its responsibility to counsel on conscientious objection and the result is that young people face moral challenges when they are not fully aware of the implications.
