Document. 5-page article ~ Zahn addresses the issue of and expresses his pleasure over the growing number of conscientious objectors. He explores the chaplain's role in evaluating the position of conscientious objectors and concludes that many are absorbed by military ideals and objectives rather than their responsibility to give moral guidance. Gordon gives the results of a study he is conducting regarding the role and responsibilities of the chaplain and whether or not he would counsel one to disobey military orders who desired to be a conscientious objector. Suggests that the chaplaincy and the military should be divorced from one another. ~ Commonweal ~ 5/2 ~ 195-199
