Item. football was the 1st prize in essay contest sponsored by The Illustrated Daily News and The Orpheum Theatre in LA before premiere of the movie "The Spirit of Notre Dame," starring Lew Ayres; B.J. Miller of Altadena, CA won the contest; On Oct 28, 1931 Tom Lieb presented this football to B.J. on the stage of the Orpheum Theatre, prior to the start of the movie; donated to Archives by Miller
