Subject files concerning such issues as the Sister Agnes Mary Mansour abortion funding case, the New York Times ads saying that there is a diversity of opinion among Catholics concerning abortion, amnesty for those who evaded the draft, and support for the United Farm Workers in California; surveys concerning ecclesiology, accountability, tax exemptions, relations with bishops, status of religious brothers, fund raising, canon law, retirement, alienation of property, legal questions, goal setting, priestly formation, contemplation, seminaries, and priorities; and the Papal study of religious in the United States (1983-1984). Oversize material is filed in box 33. Microfilm of Joseph A. Varacalli's The American Call for Liberty and Justice for All: an Analysis of the Sociology of Knowledge (1980) and byproducts of a video called Brother is a Verb (1990) are filed separately.
