Scope and Contents The José M. Martelli Collection of Savoy Documents compiles medieval and early modern documents (ca. 14th-19th centuries) relating to the House of Savoy and several prominent Savoy families, including the Viale, Valperga, and Santus Berna families. The majority of the documents in this collection can be traced to the Duchy of Savoy, a now defunct Savoyard state run by the House of Savoy between 1416-1847.
